While I know this isn’t the exciting news, I want to catch up on posts in order to document.

Friday, July 5th-  I had contractions ten minutes apart for over 2 hours.

Monday, July 8th- At my Dr.’s appointment I learned I was dilated to a 4. I was given the first dose of steroid shot to help develop the babies lungs. Later that night I had even harder contractions but they weren’t consistent, and I became incredibly nauseous.

Tuesday, July 9th- I went in at 11:30 AM to receive a 2nd dose of the steroid shot. I explained how horrible I was feeling, they set the babies up to a nonstress test, and their heart beats looked great. Dr. L checked me, I was still only dilated to 4 cm. He told me to spend the day at my parents where I’d be closer to the hospital.

Thursday, July 11th- Though my contractions weren’t coming incredibly fast, they were pretty intense. I had tested positive on the group strep b test, which means I would need to receive penicillin for 4 hours prior to delivering. My contractions usually sped up at night, so that made me nervous. At 4:00 PM I called the Dr. and asked what I should do. I was told to come to their office. They witnessed the contractions, and then checked me again… still only a 4. (I was checked by 3 different doctors last week). Dr. C explained if I was 37 weeks, he’d go ahead and just break my water, but it only being 34 weeks, he didn’t feel right about it for the babies. I’m grateful, because even though I wanted them out, I knew he was making the right call.

Monday, July 15th- I had my regular check up. In the ultrasound, Baby A was still head down, and Baby B moved on top of Baby A and was sitting transverse. Though it seemed I was about to burst with one on top of another, the fact Baby A was still head down meant good news for a vaginal delivery. The babies were estimated to both weigh just over 5 lbs.

Even though I was miserable, the constant contractions were killing my back and stomach, I realized the further we could go keeping them in, the healthier they would be. Patrick was my number one fan, and every time I complained was there to say something positive. Thank you to my parents and friends who took Ledger on the hard days!
