Cannon was doing great and there was no reason to keep him any longer, so after staying 9 days in the NICU, we were able to take him home on July 26th.
Grandma Siddoway stayed with Cruiz as we left. Good thing, because I would have bawled the entire way home leaving him by himself.
Ledger was waiting in the car with Grandpa, and as we drove off in our new minivan, (Yay! I love it) Ledger kept looking at me like, “What the heck is that, Mom?” He repeatedly said, “That one” and “Na nights” the entire way home.
Once we made it home, Ledger was thrilled with a new little play buddy. He proceeded to find every truck and choo choo to share with his little brother. We couldn’t turn our heads for a second, because all of his toys would be piled right on Cannon’s face. Ledger has been awesome with him, and has done much better than we expected.
I still can’t believe it’s taken us 4 1/2 years of us being parents, and 4 kids later to be able to watch two of them interact with one another. But now that it’s finally happened, we feel incredibly blessed.
Welcome home Cannon.
